Persuasion by Jane Austen

untitledPersuasion by Jane Austen. Recommended by Fiona (Reader development Team and Whitefield Library.)

When Anne Elliot falls in love with Wentworth she must make a wrenching decision. The man she loves is perfect excepting wealth and social status, so she sends him away. Some years later he returns much wealthier, but is it too late for Anne?

‘A beautiful story of second chances, and of how being too nice can lose you what you most want. Well observed characters, witty observation and a wonderful heroine.  You can’t fail to fall in love with Anne Elliot.’ Fiona.

  1. Persuasion is my absolute favourite Jane Austen novel. Austen had such a way with words, she’s turned me into a hopeless romantic. I particularly love the letter to Anne!
