The site is fabulously flexible, affording the user several different methods to search out that next great book.

By using sliding scales you can indicate the factors in a story that you enjoy or you can search using character, setting and plot. Too specific? You can also view book lists – W Lists – that group books by genre. The great thing here is that the groupings aren’t necessarily what you would expect and include things like ‘Weird and wonderful’ and ‘Laugh your pants off’!

The functionality of the site is brilliant, it is so easy to use, and once you have selected a book you can even check if your local Library Service has it in stock. If not – and you are a Bury Libraries customer – don’t worry as we may be able to borrow it for you using our regional loan service or you could make a suggestion for us to add it to our stock, contact your local branch for details. We can’t add every title that is put forward but we do consider all of your suggestions; they give us a great feel for what is popular with our members.

Once you have created a membership to the website you can even join in and create your own lists. You don’t even have to be a member to brows the lists made by other contributors.

All in all this is a fabulous way to browse and be inspired.
