We were so excited to be welcoming Milly Johnson to Tottington Library for afternoon tea and we were clearly not alone; the event sold out like hot cakes! ( In fact it was home made cupcakes that we were offering – kindly provided by Sue who does cake decorating classes at Tottington Library).
Milly’s reputation had preceeded her, with fans of her books and people who had been impressed with her wit and humour when she was on ‘Come Dine with Me’ attending the event. This reputation was well deserved, Milly was witty, amusing and very likeable. She chatted about her life, her experiences and what had led her into writing and her choice of genre. She also talked about her frustrations and failed projects along with what is close to her heart and drives her forward.
After the talk Milly stayed around and had tea and cake with everyone and it really was like chatting to an old friend. Everyone left with a smile on their face and a bounce in their step.
If anyone was there and would like to add a comment about the event we would be extremely grateful.
