About Library Reader

Firstly we would like to introduce ourselves and the purpose of setting up this Blog.

In November 2015 our resident and much loved Reader Development Librarian took delivery of a rather special package! This special delivery will not only seriously reduce her reading time but has also necessitated that her post be covered. In a break from the norm, four people are sharing the Reader Development Librarian role – each person contributing seven hours per week: Claire Smith-Baco; Dawn Broadhurst; Fiona Parmanand and Nichola Walshaw.

The purpose of setting up this blog is to give our staff and customers a location where they can be inspired and informed about their future reading choices. We want to promote our vast array of stock whilst also encouraging people to interact and participate with Bury Libraries in a new way. We are even offering Bury Libraries first ever virtual group read.

We hope you find this blog useful and take the time to follow our posts. Please feel free to submit your own comments, reviews and suggestions by leaving a reply in the box below.

The Reader Development Team.

  1. Is there anywhere library members can add their own book reviews? I’ve found a wonderful book in your children’s section and would like to recommend it for under 5s.
